My Story

CS.jpg

Hi, I'm Cheryl. I came to therapy as a second career, having worked in the technology field previously. I am a long time meditator and this, combined with my work as a hospice volunteer, motivated me to change course - I'm so glad I did!

I am licensed in California (#97359) as a Marriage and Family Therapist. My Master's degree in Counseling Psychology is from JFK University, with a specialization in Holistic Studies - a specialty that allows me to delve deeper into the wisdom of our bodies and gives me a broader awareness of nature and spirituality as a support during difficult times. This training was imperative during the years I worked with hospice, and more recently in my current work at La Selva, a Dual Diagnosis Partial Hospitalization Program where I support clients struggling with profound depression, trauma, substance abuse, and anxiety.

My private practice opened in 2018.

In my private practice I specialize in helping people navigate change and uncertainty. Often change gives us a nagging sense of being untethered. Along with feelings of excitement or relief, change can unearth feelings of confusion, grief, sadness, fear, depression, shame, disappointment and anxiety. Given that life is full of change, some expected, some surprises, how do we navigate the transitional space between what was, and what is yet to be?  In my work with clients we address big questions such as this, and more, with curiosity and optimism. I would be honored to support you on your journey.
